Colleagues,
In a sign of unity and support for one another, teachers across Long Island will be wearing “Red for Ed” on Friday, March 12 - almost exactly a year to the day that our schools were closed in March of 2020. It is hard to believe that a year ago I had never once uttered the words ZOOM, Google Meets, remote, virtual or hybrid when discussing my school day. Additionally, BMUST would like Friday to be a “jeans” day to collect funds for the Community Cupboard. As difficult as this past year has been, and I know it has been incredibly difficult, I consider myself lucky to have my job and my benefits when so many in our community have lost so very much. During the pandemic, the Cupboard has continued to do remarkable work, feeding sixty to eighty BMCHSD families every two weeks and even more around the holidays. I hope you will join me in wearing “Red for Ed” on Friday, March 12th and, if you are able, to support the Community Cupboard. Thank you for the amazing work you continue to do each and every day. I am blessed to work with and alongside such an incredible teaching staff. The BMCHSD community is blessed to have you all educating their children. Continue to take good care of yourselves and of one another. In Solidarity, Rob Comments are closed.
