We hope you all had a lovely summer. Catherine and I are very excited to organize/supervise the street fairs again this year! As you know, the district's participation in the fairs is a great way for students and faculty to come together to do something nice for the community. If you could forward the following message to the faculty in your buildings and mention it at your faculty meetings, it would be greatly appreciated! After the fairs we will inform you of the faculty, staff, and students who helped out. Thank you for your assistance with this. We look forward to two more wonderful street fairs! We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! The Bellmore and Merrick Street Fairs are right around the corner and we need your help to ensure that we have sufficient coverage to run both events successfully. We would greatly appreciate if faculty and staff members would consider volunteering 1-2 hours of their time overseeing our student volunteers! Merrick Street Fair: • Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th • Volunteers should report to the BMCHSD tent located in front of RS Jones Restaurant. Bellmore Street Fair: • Saturday, September 16th and Sunday, September 17th • Volunteers should report to the BMCHSD tent located in the LIRR parking lot on the corner of Bellmore Ave and Sunrise Hwy We could use 1 or 2 teacher volunteers for each time slot. A reply email will be sent to each teacher volunteer providing specific details regarding their assigned time slot. Student Help - Art Club and Honor Society Advisors: The street fairs are a great opportunity for students to earn community service! In the past you have done a wonderful job setting up our student volunteers. We would greatly appreciate your help again! Please email Catherine Azzara at [email protected] with any questions and concerns. Your students' talents are always a welcomed addition (especially at the face painting station!) Students should volunteer for a minimum of two hours and will assist young children with simple and fun crafts. Teachers may e-mail Catherine Azzara at [email protected] with the names, dates, and times students plan to attend. Students will be required to sign in AND out with Ms. Azzara or Mrs. Chilton in order for their club leaders to be informed of their participation.
