Colleagues,
Greetings! Sorry for this very brief interruption of your summer. I hope that it has been a summer full of rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. I am writing to let you know of a potential partnership between BMCHSD and Walgreens to vaccinate members of the school community who have yet to be vaccinated, but would like to be. Walgreens will be using the Moderna vaccination. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity - please respond to this email. Responding does not commit you to getting the vaccination, only helps us know how many, if any, BMUST members are interested. Unfortunately, we do not have any information regarding vaccination booster shots at this time. I would also like you to know that the Board of Trustees (BOT) has been participating in school opening conversations with central administration, building administration and parent leaders. Additionally, on Tuesday, the BOT met with BMCHSD’s new leadership team to continue planning for opening school as normally as possible, while at the same time ensuring the health and safety of staff and students I anticipate the district will be communicating its plans for the September opening in short order. Below you will find links to school opening guidance that has been released thus far Center for Disease Control (CDC) School Opening Guidance. American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Recommendations. New York State Education Department Health and Safety Guide. Suffolk County Department of Health Reopening Guidance. Please enjoy the rest of the summer as best you can. I am looking forward to seeing you all on August 30th, as we get back at doing what we do better than anybody, anywhere. Continue to take good care of yourself and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Remember - if you are not currently vaccinated, but are interested in changing that, please respond to this email. In Solidarity, Rob Rob Walsh President Comments are closed.
